Organizations recognize the value of creating more diverse workplaces that represent their communities, customers and society overall.  Diverse talent leads to increased innovation, improved decision-making and problem-solving, enhanced brand reputation and an expanded talent pool.  The recruiting and selection process is a critical lever for creating more diverse, equitable and inclusive organizations where individuals can achieve a sense of belonging.

Like other talent systems and processes, the talent recruitment and selection process must be redesigned to level the playing field for all candidates.  Those involved must examine their own understanding of DEI and explore how their own biases can negatively impact the process.  By building awareness and learning how to consciously disrupt unconscious bias, individuals can deepen their understanding of candidates and create greater connections.

Inclusive Selection supports participants’ ability to gain knowledge, skills and tools for recruiting and selecting candidates more inclusively.  They will develop a common understanding of key concepts and definitions to create a foundation for learning.  Individuals will explore the current state of the recruitment and selection process within their organization.  They then examine what goes into the thought process when they need to make a decision or choice and work with a model to help manage that process.  Participants will apply the model in small groups to make hiring decisions.

You deserve a circle of inclusion and influence, but it’s up to you to create it.

If you haven’t got the best talent, you’re not going to be the best; if you’re not representing properly the available pool of talent, then you’re missing an opportunity.
