Argosight recently conducted a Snap Survey on talent management priorities on the HR & Talent Management Executives LinkedIn Group. They reported that 63% of the respondents indicated that engaging talent and developing leaders are top priorities for organizations of all sizes and industries globally in 2017.
It’s not too surprising that organizations are making engagement and development priorities, especially given the statistics reported in Gallup’s recent State of the American Workplace Report. Gallup reports that 16% of the American workforce are actively disengaged, costing U.S. companies over $483 billion a year in lost productivity. 51% are disengaged and actively looking for other opportunities. That leaves only 33% of the American workforce engaged at work.
Billions of dollars are wasted annually by a disengaged workforce. If companies could increase the number of engaged employees, imagine the impact it would have on their bottom line.
