At CSI, we teach a workshop called CareerPower® Classic. The workshop is designed to provide employees with the knowledge and tools they need to take charge of their own development and commit to taking powerful career actions. At the beginning of each workshop, we ask the question, “What is the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?” We’ve heard some great advice over the years:
- Do what you love.
- Don’t be afraid to take risks or try something new.
- Say yes to new opportunities.
We’ve also heard, all too often, “I’ve never received any good career advice.” Never? None? Nada? Nil? Wow! For every person who’s gotten great career advice, there’s another who is experiencing a serious drought. So, let’s change it!
Take a few minutes to comment below on the best career advice you’ve ever received. Join the conversation. Share your experience and help others to commit to taking powerful career actions. We often learn best from others. Inspire each other and tell us, “What’s be best career advice you’ve ever received?”
